The L'ATHENE Story
This high-performance breed of pure nutrient skincare - for anti-aging and challenged skin - was created by two Registered Nurses, Nan Brown and Lil Bogdan, who worked with burns and severe dermatological conditions at Johns Hopkins and other leading hospitals.
As wellness pioneers for over 20 years, these nurses were among the first to speak about the need for cleaner skincare and the value of pure naturals and pure nutrients on the skin to create real results. Healthy skin becomes Radiant Skin.
How it Began
After fifteen years of treating skin at its very worst in hospitals and studying clinical and holistic skin healing principles, they discovered that skin responds best to pure, potent, nutrient-rich natural preparations.
Nan herself struggled with sensitive skin, but found that marketplace products couldn't give the wonderful results that they knew were possible. They then discovered that most skincare contained standard cosmetic chemicals. Having experienced firsthand, both professionally and personally, the healing power of nature, Nan and Lil went on a quest to develop the most potent nutrient-rich skincare possible, with ingredients backed by science, and bring it to others everywhere.
To create the skincare, they worked with top nutritionists, organic chemists and leading aromatherapists. They sought out the best ingredients for skin health. They meticulously refined the formulas to make them the most effective - without resorting to many standard cosmetic chemicals, and they used only the highest quality ingredients.

Nan and Lil have consulted on thousands of womens' skin, including many nurses. They are nationally publicized speakers and medical educators that have been featured in numerous medical and consumer publications.
They have traveled nationally, presenting their lecture - Ageless Beauty - and sharing their message that it is possible to create 'true beauty and wellness' at any age.
Why is it called L'ATHENE
The name L'ATHENE comes from Athena, the goddess of wisdom, health, purity and reason. These are the 4 pillars the brand revolves around. In Greek, the name Athena (or Athene) means Nurse and Flower. So L'ATHENE is the perfect name to "nurse your skin to health".
